Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    • itCanBeVegan delivers locally, offers a few pick-up locations in Oakland and its surrounding area.

    • itCanBeVegan can only ship within California.

    • Shipments are processed via USPS on Mondays & Tuesdays to avoid weekend transit.

    • Minimum order for free USPS shipping: $100

    • Flat USPS shipping fee: $15 for orders under $100.

    • Minimum order for free local delivery: $30.

    • Minimum order for local pickup: $30.

    • We ship out only on Mondays and Tuesdays via USPS.

    • If you place your order after 9pm on Monday, it might not ship out until the following Monday.

    • We cannot ship to PO boxes.

    • We only ship within California, via USPS.

    • After placing your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email. After your order is processed, you’ll receive a second email with tracking information.

    • If you have any questions about an existing order, please email nanou@itcanbevegan.com

    • No shipping or local delivery on the following days:

      • The day before Thanksgiving

      • Thanksgiving weekend

      • December 20 to January 3rd

    • We do not offer any refunds or accept any returns of products.

    • Nanou packs each & every order to the best of her ability, and cannot be held responsible for theft, damages due to but not limited to: animals, weather, delivery, heat, neglect, shipping, etc.

    • Once your order leaves our hands, it is your responsibility to track your order, let your recipient know when to expect their gifts, be available for delivery, or schedule redelivery with USPS, and for inputting the correct addresses & emails for shipment.

    • We are not responsible for returned orders, and will not reship returned orders.

    • We are not responsible for shipping delays caused by the shipping providers due to weather or any other circumstances beyond our control.

    • If damages are the fault of USPS, we are happy to help you file a claim. Please email nanou@itcanbevegan.com and include your order number and a description of the problem in the body of the email. Photos can help.

    • If you are not satisfied with your order, please email nanou@itcanbevegan.com and include your order number and a description of the problem in the body of the email. Nanou will contact you promptly to address the issue and make it right for you.

  • Once your order label has been printed, you will receive an email with your tracking number (please be sure to check your spam folder). If you do not receive a tracking number, please email nanou@itcanbevegan.com.

  • Chocolates are best kept in a cool, dry place, and away from strong odors.

  • Nanou’s chocolates are made of fresh ingredients, and no preservatives.
    For optimum flavors, the recommendation is to eat them within 2 to 3 weeks.
    If kept in a wine cooler, they will last longer.
    Eat them fast and order again!

    • the brioche will keep for a week at room temperature.

    • the canelés should be eaten within a couple of days or you can freeze them. They are delicious, warmed up at 350F in a toaster oven.

    • the galette and the linzertorte will keep for three to four days at room temperature, but will you resist that long?

    • the biscottis will keep for a week or more, at room temperature.

  • Check Nanou’s menu, where all the ingredients and allergens are listed.

    If you have severe allergies, be aware that everything on the menu is homemade. Nuts, dairy and more are used in the kitchen and the chocolate lab.

  • Unfortunately, Class A cottage food operations can only sell directly. Nanou will let you know of any pop-up events or farmers’ markets she might attend, but for now, the easiest is to order online or contact Nanou.
